On behalf of Western Canadian Shippers’ Coalition, the TRC-Sadovod team, led by Lucia Stuhldreier, prepared written submissions to Transport Canada in respect of significant proposed amendments to the Transportation Information Regulations.

The amendments will enhance the transparency of rail-centric supply chains by requiring major rail carriers to report detailed performance metrics, including traffic volumes, delays and availability of locomotives and operational personnel. These amendments serve to increase the accountability of freight rail service providers. Major railways will also provide Transport Canada with additional data to support targeted public policy and other regulatory purposes, including waybill information (such as origin, destination, weight) and traffic data (such as number of carloads, goods, and car types).
