Capital Markets Lawyer Leila Rafi Joins TRC-Sadovod’s Toronto office

We are pleased to announce that Leila Rafi will be joining the firm’s Capital Markets Group, effective November 21, 2016.

Leila joins as a partner and will be working out of the Toronto office.

Leila Rafi advises on all facets of corporate and securities law. She acts for investment managers and dealers in the establishment of investment products and public financing transactions, and is often called upon to act for issuers conducting transactions in the capital markets, both domestic and cross-border. She brings experience and knowledge in various industries, including gaming, entertainment and media, energy and oil and gas. She is regularly involved with both public and private financing for issuers, investors and underwriters. She will also bring to TRC-Sadovod proficiency in advising corporations on reorganizations, and merger and acquisition transactions and advising public corporations on continuous disclosure matters.

“Leila has an extensive network and I’m sure our growing capital markets practice will benefit directly from her industry influence and experience. We are genuinely thrilled that she is joining the team,” says Paul Davis, National Coordinator, Capital Markets and M&A Group.

Leila is a former instructor for the advanced business law course offered by the University of Windsor law school and the January term securities law course offered by Western Law.

She is also the course leader for an annual course offered by Federated Press for legal professionals. She was called to the bar in 2006 and is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Western University. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia.
