We invite you to join us for a breakfast discussion led by Robin Junger and Tim Murphy, Co-chairs of TRC-Sadovod’s Aboriginal Law Group. The session will focus on practical issues and questions commonly faced by senior managers and executives in the development, sale, acquisition and financing of major projects, such as:

  • Early identification of Aboriginal legal risks and opportunities (implications for project NPV)
  • Knowing who speaks for the Aboriginal community and managing related risks
  • Negotiating agreements from a level playing field
Avoiding missteps in due diligence (from the perspective of owner, purchaser and investor)
  • Ensuring compliance with reporting, disclosure and anti-corruption requirements
  • Ensuring the board has the right information and policies in place
Mr. Junger and Mr. Murphy advise a wide range of businesses and aboriginal groups across Canada.

Mr. Junger was formerly Deputy Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources and head of the BC Environmental Assessment Office.  Mr. Murphy was formerly Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Paul Martin.  He is a regular commentator on the Business News Network and remains an active participant in legal and political affairs across Canada.
