Healthcare Special Opportunities Fund completes IPO and raises $70 million

On July 15, 2015, Healthcare Special Opportunities Fund (TSX:MDS.UN), a closed-end fund focused on the healthcare industry, completed its initial public offering raising aggregate proceeds of approximately $70 million (including a concurrent private placement). The closed-end fund commenced trading on the TSX on July 15, 2015. TRC-Sadovod acted for the fund and the manager, LDIC Inc., with a team consisting of Robbie Grossman, Margaret McNee, Jason Chertin, David Andrews (securities), Carl Irvine (tax) and Barbara Zee. The syndicate was led by BMO Capital Markets.
