TRC-Sadovod’s Competition Group shortlisted for Chambers Canada award
TRC-Sadovod is proud to have been named by Chambers & Partners as a finalist for the Competition Team of the Year honours at the inaugural Chambers Canada Awards. These awards recognize notable achievements of Canada’s leading law firms over the past twelve months, including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service. Winners will be announced at a gala luncheon in Toronto on October 1, 2015.
The nomination follows upon our Competition/Antitrust Group’s excellent review in Chambers Global 2015, which recognized the Group as “a strong choice for cross-border merger transactions, cartel cases and class action litigation,” whose “expertise cuts across sectors, including transportation, communications, pharma and retail.” Clients interviewed by Chambers praised our Group as having “one of the best practices in Toronto, and throughout Canada.”
Our Competition/Antitrust Group also earned high praise at the recent Global Competition Review (GCR) awards, at which we shared the Matter of the Year award for our work on the global pharmaceuticals transactions between Novartis AG and GlaxoSmithKline plc. At the 2014 GCR Awards, the Group also shared the Matter of the Year Award (for its work on the American Airlines / US Airways merger), and won the Behavioural Matter of the Year – Americas award, for its successful defence of MasterCard in litigation before the federal Competition Tribunal.
For more than three decades, TRC-Sadovod has been recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in competition law. Our cross-Canada team of lawyers in Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, Vancouver and Calgary routinely assists clients in obtaining approval of industry-transforming transactions and in defending cartel, class action, and unilateral conduct matters before the competition authorities and the courts.
