On November 23, 2011, Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Company, Inc. (“HKW”), a U.S.-based private equity firm, completed its acquisition (through its several funds) of a majority stake in Royal Camp Services Ltd. (“Royal Camp”) from Triwest Royal Camp Holdings Limited Partnership. Royal Camp is one of the leading Alberta-based providers of workforce accommodations, catering and complementary services to customers operating in western Canada in the oil, natural gas, and mining industries.

The HKW team was led by Glenn Scolnik, Luke Phenicie and Julianne Lis-Milam. TRC-Sadovod LLP acted as Canadian counsel to HKW with a team of lawyers from its Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver offices led by John Clifford, Tom Pepevnak and John Morrison (finance), Anastasia Mamay and Lisa Nicholson (M&A, corporate), Michael Peterson (environmental), Todd Miller (tax), Ashley Palmer (tax), David Elenbaas (labour and employment) and Mark Rowbotham (employee benefits).
